MRI Gadolinium Injury Claim

MRI Gadolinium Injury Lawyer

Gadolinium is a contrast agent used by hospitals and physicians in MRI (magnetic resonance imaging).  Gadolinium dye provides a greater contrast in MRI between normal and abnormal tissue in the brain and body. General electric and Bayer Healthcare both manufacture and use Gadolinium as a contrast agent.  It is now suspected that Gadolinium can cause Nephrogenic Systemic Fibrosis (NSF), a relatively new disease that causes serious and permanent skin problems.

Consumers who have used Gadolinium dye in MRI and who have experienced the following dangerous side effects may have a MRI Gadolinium injury claim against the manufacturer:
  • Rash
  • Sweating
  • Allergic reaction
  • Facial Swelling
  • Skin problems
  • Skin tightening
  • Joint pain
Victims of Gadolinium toxicity have reported a rash that makes the skin hard and woody, then affecting the joints.  Be advised that there are also reports of fatalities attributed to adverse reactions to this product.  If you have used Gadolinium, contact a Gadolinium Injury Lawyer immediately to discuss your rights as a victimized consumer.

Gadolinium Injury Lawyers - Schultz Legal Group

Gadolinium remains on the market today, despite warnings posted by the FDA in December 2006.  In May 2007, the FDA required the manufacturers and distributors of Gadolinium dye to include bold faced warning labels detailing the risks of NSF and other harmful side effects.  The FDA also warned patients with kidney deficiencies to stay away from Gadolinium contrast-based MRI due to an inability to dispell the toxic Gadolinium from their bodies.  The majority of Gadolinium injury claims have been filed against General Electric based upon their product "Omniscan."  However, several other companies are associated with Gadolinium, including Bayer Healthcare, Bracco, and Covidien.

If you or a loved one has experienced these dangerous side effects from Gadolinium, including Nephrogenic Systemic Fibrosis, contact a Gadolinium Injury Lawyer at Schultz Legal Group.  Manufacturers and distributors of this product must be held accountable for the injuries sustained by consumers.  A Gadolinium injury claim may be made if the consumer meets certain prequalifications, including a short statute of limitations.
